Mariko Kakiuchi
Registered Massage Therapist
Mariko came to Canada in 2007 from Japan and fell in love with the mountains. She worked as a physiotherapist in Japan for 6 years before coming here. While in Japan, she was receiving massages regularly and always appreciated how much relief was provided physically and mentally.
After deciding to make Canmore home, Mariko wanted to find a career that she could use her physio background as well as provide the relief that people deserve to feel. And massage therapy was the perfect one!
She graduated from a 2200hrs of massage therapy program in 2016. Mariko worked in a spa for 4 years and learned to work with many body types and their needs. She realized that many of her clients were appreciating her deep tissue and therapeutic approach during those years which made her decide to work in a clinical setting.
Mariko likes to combine therapeutic approach and relaxation massage during her treatment because she believes that relaxation is essential for everyone's well-being and healing process. She caters her treatments to your individual needs including deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point release, cupping.
